How it works

Light in fibre travels about 200 km per millisecond. Minimum ping ≈ 2 × distance / 200 (round trip). The rest comes from routing, Wi-Fi and servers.

Results are for guidance only and do not replace professional advice.

Worked example

With the default values:

  • Distance to server (km)800
  • Your measured ping (ms)38
  • Your FPS144

you get:

  • Theoretical minimum ping8 ms
  • Your ping in frames5.5 frames at 144 FPS
  • Overhead (routing, Wi-Fi, server)30 ms
